LA CARAVEDO PREMIUM PISCO "PURO QUEBRANTA" - 40% FROM PERÚ - 0,70L

Destilería La Caravedo, America's oldest distillery, has been producing the best Peruvian piscos in the world. Each of our expressions - puro, acholado and mosto verde - are handcrafted with the distinctive quality, authenticity and heritage for which we are known.
A Pisco Puro is made from one of the legally permitted grape varieties. Typically, pisco puros contain 6 to 8 pounds. Grapes per bottle. La caravedo is a pisco puro and contains 8 pounds. Quebranta grapes per bottle.
This award-winning “Puro” style Peruvian pisco is the finest expression of the “macho grape” called Quebranta.

Production method
Simply distilled to 40% ABV (80 Proof), which takes approximately 3kg of Quebranta grapes to make a 750ml bottle. Distilled from 100% fully fermented grape juice (pure wine - no pomace) and left to rest for at least six months without any additives: no color, no water, no sugar, no wood aroma. Distilled through copper stills from Alambique.
Caravedo Pisco follows the guidelines of the Peruvian DO (Denominación de Origen), which stipulates that Pisco is made from only eight permitted local grapes, is individually distilled in copper stills for evidence and is not aged and unaffected by additives. Our pisco is kept at the highest level. Round, happy, clean.
Expect to find our own grapes in every bottle, handpicked when fully ripe, fermented into wine, and then distilled into the spirit loved by millions. Each of these grape varieties that we harvest transforms into wine that, once distilled, has its own unique properties.

Aroma
The aroma is clean and clear with a summer salad of pears and grapes (with the skins), edible flowers and microgreens. These flavors continue as you taste with just enough sweetness and oiliness to cushion the brandy on your palate. The finish is slightly bittersweet with a slightly spicy quality that will make your mouth water.

Taste
The palate offers a nice balance of flavors - strong floral notes (which may inspire the graphic etched on the bottle), pear notes, more of that evergreen / pine-like character (later in the experience) and a finish reminiscent of a slightly sweet butterscotch- Character reminds - next to a herbaceous, almost tar-like edge. There is great complexity here, but also a good balance between aromas and flavors, which together form a beautifully implemented package.

Hacienda Caravedo
Embedded in the Ica Valley of Peru, in the middle of the foothills of the Andes, lies the oldest, continuously operated distillery in America - the Hacienda La Caravedo was founded in 1684. From here, Caravedo Piscos are made in small quantities with the same quality, authenticity and tradition that are typical of Hacienda La Caravedo. The result is the most exquisite expression of the Peruvian national spirit, pisco.

All of our piscos are made entirely from the finest grapes grown on the estate.
Distilled entirely from wine and unchanged without adding water. Caravedo Piscos are a miscible and versatile white spirit that honors the spirit of tradition, craft and adventure.
The soft flavors of Caravedo Piscos go back centuries, almost four to be precise.
Like all good things, pisco began as an act of rebellion. In 1641 the Spanish King Philip IV levied high taxes on all wines produced in Peru. His new world subjects evaded the onerous tax by distilling the year's vintage. Almost four centuries ago, a new white spirit was born in hand-forged copper barrels and was christened Pisco, a reference to the port of Pisco from which this new spirit was exported and which means “little bird” in the indigenous Quechua language. To this day, Peruvians call it their native spirit.

Pisco can boast what only a handful of other spirits enjoy: a designation of origin. This simply means that all pisco must be produced in a specific region and under the strictest guidelines. All piscos are made in distilleries along the southwest coast of Peru and must be distilled from one of eight specific aromatic and non-aromatic grape varieties: Quebranta, Negra Criolla, Mollar, Italia, Moscatel, Albilla, Torontel and Uvina.
When it is distilled, pisco is made in small quantities, made in traditional copper stills and left unchanged or left unchanged. This means that not even water is added to the finished product. Pisco is distilled as proof, a rarity in a world where liquor makers distill to a high alcohol content and then add water to get the proof you want.
