This special Acapulco Chair model is based on the Memphis design movement of the 1980s and was created in cooperation with the sneaker brand VOR SHOES. “Memphis” was founded in 1980 as a designer collective in Milan. The aim of the members was to shake up the current state of the design industry. Always considered controversial, the Memphis design had a tremendous impact on the course of design history. In the 2010-20s, the Memphis aesthetic has had a resurgence in creative industries. This special aesthetic and color scheme was incorporated into the new sneaker and Acapulco Chair and Taburete models in close cooperation between the two brands ACAPULCO DESIGN and VOR SHOES and translated into the design language of the sneakers and designer furniture. Acapulco Design attaches great importance to the qualitative manufacture of its products and furniture.
The Acapulco armchairs are handcrafted in a traditional way in a factory in
Made in Mexico City. We pay very close attention to fair conditions during production
respected. Acapulco Design is involved in all production steps on site.
There is personal and regular contact with all employees of the factory, as well as with all suppliers.
In this way, Acapulco Design guarantees that people with a lack of prospects enter
secure job and fair pay can be granted. The employees are paid well above the minimum wage level and women and men receive the same pay. Safety at work also plays a very important role in the production of the Acapulco chair.

Of course, we also pay a lot of attention to the quality and comfort of our Acapulco Chairs.
Only materials of the highest quality are used in production.
