Mario Brandao, Espresso cup ceramic "Favella Collection"
"Favella Collection" is an exclusive project made for South Embassy by the brasilian artist Mario Brandao, inspired on the colors of the favelas of Rio de Janeiro.
Ceramist, sculptor and decorative painter.
Brandão started his career as a ceramist in 1985, in São Paulo, Brazil, where he worked for over ten years. He moved to NYC in the early 90’s where he started a long career as a decorative painter and also restoring furniture and objects. He was responsible for numerous frescoes in private residencies in NYC and in other states as well. In 2008 he moved to Berlin. He was swooned by the high level of inventive energy he found in the German capital, and went back to his original passion, ceramics. Recently he opened his own working and experimentation space in Neukölln.
Mario Brandão Design Studio is a creative place by definition. Where he mixes the different practices he has been developing throughout the years.
Brandão is also a consultant in interior design and decoration. He also produces customized ceramic pieces as well as furniture.
