MONTES KAIKEN "MAI" MALBEC - ARGENTINA - 2016

An attractive ruby red color. With exceptional and concentrated fruits, it has beautiful aromas of red currants, black cherries and a hint of tobacco. A full-bodied wine. Round and velvety on the palate with soft tannins.

A hint of vanilla and toast is followed by a long, smooth finish. Very, very elegant.

Kaiken is what the Mapuche Indians call the Patagonian wild goose, which crosses the Andes Mountains soon to Chile, now to Argentina. And because in 2001 Montes moved across the Andes to neighboring Argentina to prepare his selected qualities here, he named them after the geese: Kaiken.
The wine has an opulent bouquet of blueberries, black currants, fine notes of dark chocolate, tobacco and coffee. The palate is juicy, very complex and excellently structured. The full fruit is supported by ripe tannin, which accompanies the wonderfully long finale.

For the Kaiken Malbec, the grapes are gently fermented and the young wine is matured in barrels made of half American oak for eight months. Then it is put on the bottle, only lightly filtered to preserve its original taste.
