Product description

This wine is of pale ruby red color and medium intensity and has a pronounced aroma of forest fruits, cassis, blackcurrant and wild raspberry. The palate is dry, with medium acidity and ripe medium tannins.
Our Pinot Noir Collection comes from a vineyard located 12 km from the Pacific Ocean in the Cordillera de la Costa. The Pinot Noir and the white wines of this region provide excellent results, as the climate is much cooler than in the rest of the country's wine regions. The soil in this area is characterized by loamy to sandy soils and granite rocks with lots of pomasine. The hand-harvested grapes are transported in boxes of 10-12 kg and transported by refrigerated truck. This ensures that the grapes arrive healthy and intact in the cellar while preserving the organoleptic quality of the grapes.

Vineyards
Our Colección Pinot Noir comes from a vineyard just 12 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean in the coastal mountains. Pinot Noir and white wines from this area provide excellent results, as the climate is much cooler than in the other wine regions of the country. The soils in this area are a clay-clay mixture with sand and small granite stones. The hand-harvested grapes are transported in refrigerated trucks in containers of 10-12 kilograms. In this way, we ensure that the grapes arrive healthy and intact in the winery and preserve the organoleptic properties of the grape.

Climate
Due to the proximity to the sea, there are large temperature fluctuations between day and night. It is a Mediterranean climate with cold, rainy winters and cool, dry summers. The average low temperature is around 6 ° C in winter and 23 ° C in summer. The rain mainly concentrates in winter and reaches an annual average of 350 mm. Due to the proximity of the ocean, there is often fog throughout the morning, accompanied by cool sea breezes. Due to the temperate climate, the grapes can develop a good acidity through slow maturation. The tannins ripen more slowly than in other valleys and give the wine freshness and elegance.

winemaking
Our grapes are harvested by hand in early April. To extract both color and aroma, the grapes are destemmed and cold macerated for 4 to 6 days at temperatures below 10 ° C (50 ° C). The grapes then begin to ferment selected yeasts, lasting between 8 and 10 days at temperatures between 24 and 26 ° C (75 and 79 ° F). The malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels with a useful life of 2-3 years and lasts five to six months. Finally, the wine is mixed in stainless steel tanks, where it matures for 3-4 months before bottling.

Notes from the winemaker
With a pale ruby red and medium intensity, our Colección Pinot Noir has pronounced aromas of wild fruits such as black currant, raspberry with cassis and a hint of French oak smoke. In the mouth it is dry, with a medium to high acidity and ripe tannins.
